The Council

Put a question to a council of AI models

Seat GPT, Qwen, Claude and others at one table. This page takes the chair. It calls each member in turn, keeps the clock and the word limit, and takes the minutes. You set the rules.

This is an example. Replace it with your own question.

Seats

3 of 8

Every seat needs an account. A ChatGPT, Claude or Qwen chat subscription cannot be used by another website, so a seat connects with an API key from the provider, or you carry its messages by hand to your own chat.

How it works

  1. Put the matter. Write the question or proposal you want settled. One sentence is enough.
  2. Seat the members. Give each seat a model: GPT, Claude, Qwen, Gemini, DeepSeek, a model on OpenRouter, or one running on your own machine. Connect it with your own API key, or carry its messages by hand to the chat you already use.
  3. Set the rules. How many rounds, who speaks first, how many words a turn may run, how long a turn and the whole session may last, and what counts as agreement.
  4. Open the session. The page calls each member in turn, cuts whoever runs over, and keeps the clock. You can pause, add a round, add time, or speak from the floor.
  5. Read the outcome. Every session ends with a final vote. The chair then states whether the council agreed, gives a measure of consensus, and sets out each member’s position in its own words. The minutes follow.

Questions people ask

What is an AI council?

Several AI models answering the same question under the same rules, one after another, with a chair that keeps order. Here the chair is this page. It shows you where the models differ before you rely on any one of them.

Which models can sit on the council?

A seat connects with an API key from OpenAI, Anthropic, Alibaba Model Studio (Qwen), Google AI Studio (Gemini), DeepSeek or OpenRouter, or to a local model through Ollama or LM Studio, or to any service that speaks the same API. A model you only have in a chat app can sit too: you carry its messages by hand.

Can I use my ChatGPT or Claude subscription?

Not directly. A chat subscription cannot be used by another website. There are two ways in. One is an API key from the provider, which is billed by use. The other is by hand: the page writes each message, you paste it into the chat you already pay for, and you bring the answer back.

What happens if the models do not agree?

The chair says so. When the rounds or the time run out without agreement, the final statement names the limit that was reached, gives a measure of consensus, and sets out the conflicting positions in the members’ own words. Nothing is smoothed over.

How is consensus measured?

Each member ends with a vote, a score from 0 to 10 for the motion, and one sentence. The page counts how many stand on each side and works out a consensus index from the scores: 100% when every score is the same, 0% when the council is split evenly between full support and full rejection. It measures how close the members are to each other, not whether they are right.

Where do my keys and my sessions go?

They stay in your browser. Keys, setup and records are kept there and nowhere else. Requests go from your browser to each provider. A provider that refuses calls from web pages is reached through this site’s relay, which passes the request on and keeps nothing.

Can a model play a role?

Yes. Give a seat a role in a sentence, or give it a reading: a text, PDF, EPUB or Word file. The member writes a short role card from it and then argues from that position, as its author, or as its critic.

What does it cost?

The page is free. The models run on your own accounts: an API key is billed by its provider, and carrying messages by hand costs nothing extra.

Is this the same as asking one model to argue with itself?

No. Each member is called on its own, and you can seat models from different makers. During sealed openings and the final vote a member cannot see what the others wrote. That independence is the reason to ask more than one.

Who makes it?

Devil’s Devs, who make tools that tell the truth. The Council is not affiliated with OpenAI, Anthropic, Alibaba, Google or any other model provider.
